Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Japan’s Nagoya city launched

A ceremony was held to present the certificate of Vietnam’s Honorary Consul to Mr. Nagato Natsume in Nagoya city, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, on April 8th.

Prof. Dr. Nagato Natsume, Director of the Japanese Cleft Lip and Palate Association, has supported surgery for Vietnamese children over the past 26 years, carried out various other charitable activities and activities to promote trade between Vietnam and Japan.

Over the past 20 years, Dr. Nagato Natsume's trips to Vietnam have brought thousands of bright smiles to children and consolidated strength for their dreams. Today, as the Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Aichi, Dr. Nagato Natsume continues to carry out another meaningful activity, that is to gather Japanese and Vietnamese friends into the Aichi-Vietnam Friendship Association to share common understanding and friendship, thus strengthening cooperation between Japan and Vietnam in general as well as between Aichi Prefecture and Vietnam in particular, said Nguyen Thanh Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee.

Vietnam Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong said the appointment was a recognition from the Government and State of Vietnam of the continuous contribution of Mr. Nagato Natsume in the bilateral relation development between Vietnam and Japan. It is hoped that in the new position, Mr. Nagato Natsume will continue to promote his capacity.

Aichi Prefecture is a province with many special ties with Vietnam. At present, about 200 enterprises of Aichi province are investing and operating in Vietnam.

There are about 23,000 Vietnamese people living and studying in Aichi, just behind Tokyo. Moreover, there are daily flights between Ho Chi Minh city and Aichi, which is a solid foundation for the development of the two sides./.
