Vietnam co-hosts ASEAN Family Day 2018 in Mexico

ASEAN Family Day 2018 was organized on April 7th by members of ASEAN in Mexico, including Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam, to tighten the friendly relations, traditional cooperation and regional community cohesion.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Thai Ambassador to Mexico Rommanee Kananurak, who is the current Chairman of the ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC), highlighted the significance of exchange friendship activities in 2018.
He also called for all ASEAN’s diplomatic representative agencies in Mexico to continue uniting and supporting each other in order to demonstrate ASEAN’s spirit in all fields.
Various activities including folk games and art performances were organized during the event. Many traditional dishes of the five ASEAN countries were offered to participants. Vietnam’s fried spring roll was a popular favourite among visitors.
Over the past years, ACMC has carried out various charity activities, visits and working sessions to Mexican states to foster all-field cooperation between ASEAN nations and the local country./.
