Vietnamese enterprises contribute to Cambodia's agricultural development

A leader of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company said that the company would continue to provide price and technical assistance to help Cambodian farmers improve their farming efficiency, contributing to Cambodia's agricultural development.

The speaking was delivered on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of fertilizer product branded "Dau Trau" (buffalo head) brought into the Cambodian market in Phnom Penh on March 21st.

At the event, Mr. Le Quoc Phong, General Director of Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, said that since 2002, “Dau Trau” fertilizer has been exported to other countries in the region and Cambodia is a key market. The company has focused on researching, testing and producing many “Dau Trau” fertilizer products suitable for plant and soil conditions in Cambodia.

In addition, the company has also implemented programs to transfer scientific and technical advances, using fertilizers reasonably for Cambodian farmers through seminars, demonstrations and field meetings. This has helped to improve Cambodian farmers' farming skills, contributing to increasing crop yields.

At a strategic cooperation signing ceremony between Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company and Cambodia's Yetak Group on March 20th, Cambodia’s Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An appreciated the company’s achievements and contributions to Cambodia’s agricultural development.

According to her, NPK fertilizer of the company is very popular with Cambodian farmers. This is also one of the factors supporting agricultural and rural modernization of Cambodia.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Ms Men Sam An, said that the Cambodian government prioritizes agricultural development to ensure food security, alleviate poverty for the people, and step by step increase rice exports, therefore Vietnam’s help, through advanced agricultural technique transfer, high quality products and organic products for agriculture, has great significance.

She also expressed appreciation for the company's contributions to social security such as supporting flood victims, giving school backpacks and school stationery to poor students in Cambodia’s localities./.
