Lao Cai province seizes 6,000 tablets of ecstasy

The information was released by Mr. Nguyen Van Lam, Head of Customs Control Team under the Lao Cai provincial Customs Department

The two people are Sung A Vang, born in 1979 and Giang A Lanh, born in 1980, both living in Trung Ly commune, Muong Lat district, Thanh Hoa province.

The authorities seized 6,000 tablets of ecstasy in 30 nylon bags, hidden in four milk boxes.

At the police office, the two men confessed that they were hired to transport 30 bags of drugs for a man from Thanh Hoa province to Lao Cai province to sell at VND4 million/bag, and if the sale went smoothly, each person would be paid VND5 million.

On the same day, the two men took a passenger car to Lao Cai city and rented a room at the Thu Ha guest house in Pho Moi ward, Lao Cai city, to rest and would sell the drugs the following morning. They were arrested before they were able to sell the drugs.
