Dinh Loan in Binh Hai commune is over 90 years old. With poor health and living in lonely conditions, all of his daily activities are dependent on his niece. Sharing difficulties with Mr. Loan, the Binh Hai communal Military Party Committee commits to care for his whole life at VND200,000 per month. Since 2014, each Party member contributes VND30,000 per month to assist Mr. Loan.
Apart from Mr. Loan, many other disadvantaged and poor people have been cared for by village Party Committees, using donations from Party members.
Secretary of the Binh Hai communal Party Committee Vo Van Phan said that so far the commune had developed 12 models on humanitarian work, with an aim to assist disadvantaged Party members, poor families and poor pupils. By collecting VND10,000-30,000 per month from Party members, the Party organizations earmark VND150,000-200,000 to assist each case in need each month. In 2 years, 14 individuals have been assisted.
Meanwhile, in Binh Dong commune, the models on “4 fit” (punctuality, fitting plans, fitting responsibilities, fitting guidelines - policies and laws), “4 haves” (having to be transparent, devoted, exact and keeping promises), and “3 close” (close to people, close to work and close to grassroots level), have been appreciated due to practical efficiency toward local development.
According to Do Thiet Kiem, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Binh Son district Party Committee, a majority of Party organizations in the district have carried out models on studying and following Uncle Ho’s example. “Efficient models will be praised and expanded in 2018. “At first, the model in Binh Hai commune will be introduced for others to follow, thus pervading the implementation of Uncle Ho’s teachings and contributing to successfully realizing local socio-economic development goals,” he added./.
