The golf tournament raising funds for “Giving strength to study” scholarships has recently received VND10.3 billion from businesses and sponsors.

Over VND10 billion mobilized to assist poor students
The fund was organized by the Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, Tuoi tre (Youth) newspaper, Vietnam Television in Ho Chi Minh city (VTV9) and Long Thanh Golf Club.

The money will be handed over to nearly 1,400 poor students who have recently passed the entrance exams to universities and colleges in over 40 provinces and cities across the country.

Each scholarship worth VND7 million, and some special VND10 million scholarships, will be presented in five locations, using a capital of VND7.5 billion. In addition, 400 scholarships worth VND2 billion will be granted to vocational training students.

According to Le Quoc Phong, Director General of the Binh Dien Fertilizer Joint Stock Company, after nine times, nearly VND50 billion has been mobilized, assisting 5,300 new students.

“We put our trust in new students,” said Mr. Phong. “In fact, thanks to the scholarships, many students did not have to quit their studies, but can continue and become useful citizens to society and return to contribute to the fund.”
