The Cambodia Angkor Air (CAAir) has seen a year-on-year growth of 106.6 percent in international passenger volume during the first half of the year.
The rise is attributable to newly launched routes such as Phnom Penh – Xiamen (China), Phnom Penh-Bangkok (Thailand) and Phnom Penh-Hanoi (Vietnam), the number of passengers flying CAAir international routes has increased to 226,000 in the reviewed period.
The carrier’s statistics reported that a total of 307,000 passengers, including 80,000 domestic passengers, used the airline during the first six months of this year, up 77 percent over the same period last year.
CAAir is a joint-venture company between Vietnam Airlines and the Cambodian Government. The airline has set a target to increase the number of airplanes to 15 in 2015, to cater to the increasing demand of both domestic and international markets./.
