With the theme “Visiting the land of Quan ho folk singing”, there are diverse activities such as Quan ho singing competition, Bac Ninh culture and tourism week, a street carnival, and assorted folk games.

According to Bac Ninh provincial Party Committee’s Commission of Popularization and Education, Quan ho Bac Ninh folk songs were inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on September 30th, 2009. Since then, the province has made considerable efforts to realise its commitments to UNESCO to conserve and uphold the value of this art form, thus obtaining comprehensive results.

The highlight of the festival will be a ceremony marking a decade since the folk singing won UNESCO’s recognition on the evening of February 23rd, followed by an arts program, which will gather Quan Ho singers from 49 villages in Bac Ninh and Bac Giang provinces, as well as seven art troupes from cities and provinces where Quan Ho is practiced./.
