Bac Ninh province delegation pays working visit to southern locality

The delegation heard about Bac Lieu province’s natural characteristics and socio-economic situation. According to Nguyen Quang Duong, Secretary of the Bac Lieu provincial Party Committee, agriculture; alternative energy; tourism; trade, services, education and high quality healthcare; sea economy and ensuring of defence and security are identified as the province’s pillars for socio-economic development.  

He stressed that this was the first meeting of the two provinces to share experience in improving leadership and administrative reform, increasing the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), and attracting FDI. This was also an opportunity for artists and fans to enjoy the two unique art forms which were honoured as Intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity by UNESCO: southern don ca tai tu and Bac Ninh quan ho folk singing.

Congratulating Bac Lieu province on its socio-economic achievements, Mr. Chien noted that with attractive investment policies, Bac Ninh province is now among localities with the most rapid growth rate in terms of economic scale, value of industrial production, exports, and foreign investment attraction. “It also cares about social welfare work, and actively promotes cultural identities,” he added.

During the visit, the delegation presented VND500 million to poor people in Bac Lieu province for welcoming the 2019 lunar New Year festival./.
