Bac Ninh classifies OCOP products

The Steering Committee for the One Commune, One Product (OCOP) program in Bac Ninh province has organized a conference to evaluate and classify products of the program.


Banh Phu The (Vietnamese conjugal cake) is among OCOP products of Bac Ninh 

Over the past time, the provincial People’s Committee has directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to promote the popularization of the purpose, meaning and criteria of products joining the program to departments, branches and localities. In addition, it also coordinated with consulting units to review and help businesses, cooperatives and households to complete criteria for products. 

In his speech at the event, Mr. Nguyen Huu Thanh, Deputy Chairman of the Bac Ninh People’s Committee, Head of the Steering Committee and Chairman of the OCOP Product Evaluation and Classification Council, asked members of the council to accurately evaluate products to ensure fairness and objectivity so that products can be appreciated by customers when being sold on the market. 

The department will also work with districts, towns and city to continue building and implementing promotion programs for OCOP products to reach other localities in the country. 

In addition, he also suggested businesses in the locality should invest and research more products to join the value chain and improve production efficiency.

Bac Ninh has 36 products joining the OCOP program in the field of food, beverage, herbs and decoration./.
