The route, which will be 115km in length, aims to meet the demand for container transport on the route from Hai Phong seaport to Bac Ninh and neighboring provinces.

The project is expected to complete by 2027, helping to minimize procedures, reduce the number of checks, costs, transportation time, and waiting.

In 2021, the output of import and export goods of the Northern region reached more than 4 million TEUs, an increase of 12% compared to 2020; Bac Ninh - Bac Giang - Thai Nguyen area alone accounts for 40%, which is a potential market for the development of the logistics industry, in which the transport route from Hai Phong seaport to Bac Ninh and neighboring provinces is the arterial route.

Along with that, ICD Que Vo is developing to become a major logistics center in the North, a destination port, a customs clearance point for imported and exported goods of Bac Ninh province and neighboring provinces. It is expected that the volume of customs clearance containers in the next 5 years will grow strongly: In 2022, it will reach about 37,000 containers, equivalent to about 52,000 TEUs; by 2027, this figure will increase to about 500,000 containers, or about 700,000 TEUs.

On the basis of deploying the model inland waterway transport route, it will be replicated to the main inland waterway transport routes nationwide./.
