Bac Ninh Province expects to welcome Singaporean President’s visit

He made the statement during a reception for Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Jaya Ratnam on September 23.

During the reception, the Singaporean Ambassador affirmed that Singapore and Vietnam have maintained a good, close and reliable relationship for many years; saying he hoped that in his new position, the Secretary of the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee would continue to contribute to the relationship between the two countries in general, as well as Bac Ninh province in particular, to make it become more and more stable.

He informed the leaders of Bac Ninh province about the plan of the state visit of the President of Singapore to Vietnam in October, including an expected visit to Bac Ninh Province to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vietnam - Singapore Industrial Park No. 2 (VSIP 2). The Ambassador affirmed that this is a solid foundation to tighten the relationship between the two countries, and that Vietnam is the first state-level destination of the President since more than 2 years of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan thanked the leaders of Singapore and the Ambassador for always being interested in supporting and promoting investment in Bac Ninh. He added that VSIP is a typical model for industrial and urban development in Vietnam; affirming the appearance and success of VSIP in Bac Ninh contributes to making the province more successful in attracting foreign investment; and the province always considers the development of VSIP as the success of Bac Ninh, committing to accompanying businesses.

He informed that VSIP 2 was fully qualified to start construction and asked the Ambassador to support and put this content on the agenda of the President of Singapore in Vietnam. “Bac Ninh Province is committed to coordinating and preparing all the most thoughtful conditions to welcome the President of Singapore to visit,” he said. “This is a meaningful activity that enriches the year of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Singapore diplomatic relations, 10 years of strategic partnership and 15 years of VSIP presence in Bac Ninh."/.
