Bac Ninh ranks 8th in e-commerce index in 2022

(CPV) - The northern province of Bac Ninh has ranked 8th in the 2022 e-Business Index (EBI) recently announced by the Vietnam E-commerce Association.

In 2022, Bac Ninh’s EBI remained at the top with 26.6 points, up 1 place compared to last year. In which, human resources and information technology infrastructure ranked 11th; business-to-consumer transactions ranked 6th; and business-to-business transaction index ranks 11th.
According to the Plan for E-commerce Development in the 2021 – 2025 period, Bac Ninh strives to have more than 55% of the population participating in online shopping; 50% of small and medium enterprises doing business on e-commerce trading floors; 40% of enterprises joining e-commerce activities on mobile applications; and 80% of e-commerce websites integrated online ordering function.
The EBI, built by Vietnam E-commerce Association in 2012, is a useful quantitative tool to determine the e-commerce development situation across the country, as well as each locality. The index is built on 4 pillars of infrastructure and human resources; transactions between businesses and consumers; transactions among businesses; and online public services./.
