Bac Ninh to be turned into Vietnam’s leading center in processing, manufacturing and high-tech services

Bac Ninh Province has set a goal that by 2030, it will become a centrally-run city and a leading center of Vietnam in the field of processing, manufacturing and high-tech services.

The Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch on submitting for appraisal the Bac Ninh Provincial Planning for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the content of the submission.
Accordingly, the province will strive to become the center of high-tech innovation, research and development of Southeast Asia by 2050.
The Bac Ninh master plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, is built on three development pillars of economy; society and environmental sustainability and 4 success factors, including optimization of land use planning; modern technical and social infrastructure that is suitable for the future; human resources; strong and balanced attraction of investment and use of capital in a strategic and reasonable manner.
It will also strive to obtain the scale of the economy that ranks 8th out of 63 provinces and cities. In 2021, the scale of gross regional domestic product (GRDP) reached VND133.6 trillion, 23.8 times higher than in 1997, accounting for 2.71% of the country's GDP, an increase of 6.9% compared to 2020. The average GRDP per capita reached VND155.6 million, ranking 4th in the country.
By the end of 2021, Bac Ninh had 1,780 valid licensed FDI projects with a total investment capital of USD21.1 billion, while the figure in 1997 was USD1 million, ranking 5th out of 63 provinces and cities in terms of the number of projects and ranking 7th out of 63 provinces and cities in terms of registered capital. Currently, 34 countries and territories have been investing in Bac Ninh Province./.
