Bac Ninh to increase cooperation with Japanese city

As there is a large number of foreigners living and working in Bac Ninh province, there is a need for high-class private medical facilities. Therefore, Bac Ninh wants to boost medical cooperation with Japan’s Kawasaki city, especially in high-end medical facilities and transfer of advanced medical technology, according to Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee.

She made the remarks on April 13 during her reception for Mr. Norio Aoki, Kawasaki city governor, who was on a visit to Bac Ninh.
Mr. Norio Aoki said that Kawasaki city, located adjacent to Tokyo, focuses on industrial and logistic development and has the 6th highest economic growth rate in Japan. This is also one of the country's typical science and technology research and development cities with many of the world's largest and leading Japanese technology corporations.
Kawasaki city currently has about 440 leading facilities and research institutes in the fields of information technology, healthcare and biotech. After researching advanced technologies, transfer is needed for production. “We hope that in the future, Kawasaki city will exchange and connect closely with Bac Ninh province, especially on cooperation in the field of medical technology and deploying of factories in the province,” said Mr. Norio Aoki.
Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huong Giang noted that Bac Ninh province has strong development, with many socio-economic indicators among the top in the country. The province has paid special attention to attracting investment. So far, it has granted investment registration to more than 2,200 valid projects with a total capital of more than USD25 billion, of which, 104 investment projects are from Japan with a total capital of more than USD1.68 billion.
Expressing her hope that Mr. Norio Aoki would introduce his city’s businesses to invest in Bac Ninh, she pledged the province would make every favourable condition for investors./.
