Northern province promotes cooperation with Lao localities

He made the statement while being received by Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, on August 26.

During the reception, Ms Giang expressed her joy and honor to welcome the Lao Ambassador and the delegation to visit Bac Ninh; and introduced some general features of the province's geographical location, history, culture and socio-economic development. She also informed of the results of the business trip to Laos, especially signing a cooperation memorandum for the period of 2022 - 2025, handing over a number of infrastructure projects supported by Bac Ninh Province for Huaphan Province; organizing performances to promote Quan Ho folk songs and strengthening cooperation relations with some localities of Laos in June 2022.

She emphasized the special relationship, the brotherly friendship between the two countries Vietnam-Laos in general, and between the two provinces of Bac Ninh and Hua Phan in particular, which was cultivated during the years of struggle for independence of Vietnam, a link which has grown more and more strong through recent visits, cooperation and active support of Bac Ninh and Hua Phan provinces. She added she hoped that during his work in Vietnam, the Ambassador would join hands in cultivating the friendship between Vietnam and Laos as well as the localities.

For his part, Ambassador Sengphet Houngboungnuang expressed his wish that Bac Ninh continued to strengthen foreign exchange activities between Bac Ninh and Hua Phan provinces, as well as other localities of Laos, especially in introducing large enterprises and corporations of the province to invest in Bac Ninh, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Laos, thereby tightening the relationship between Vietnam and Laos in general, especially the close relationship between Bac Ninh and Hua Phan Provinces./.
