Survey on economic development and environmental protection conducted in Bac Ninh province

A survey on economic development in association with environmental protection in Bac Ninh province was conducted by a delegation of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), led by Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy General Secretary of the VCCI and Director of the PCI Project, on November 2.

A delegation led by Mr. Dau Anh Tuan, Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Director of the PCI Project, on November 2 conducted a survey on economic development in association with environmental protection in Bac Ninh province.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dau Anh Tuan said that Bac Ninh is an outstanding locality in economic development associated with environmental protection and is one of the first provinces surveyed by VCCI. He also believed that Bac Ninh will continue to be a model for green economic development for the whole country in the coming time.
For the first time visiting Bac Ninh province, Director of USAID Vietnam Aler Grubbs expressed her strong impression of the outstanding development of the province, affirming that this is vivid proof of the success of the FDI attraction of Bac Ninh.
She hoped that Bac Ninh province as well as localities nationwide would continue to play an important role, taking the lead in providing ways to create growth and development opportunities associated with the responsibility of protecting the environment, towards building a green economy in Vietnam.
During the meeting, leaders of departments and sectors exchanged and clarified issues such as the position and role of economic development in association with environmental protection in the Bac Ninh’s socio-economic development strategy; and policies, master plans and plans on economic development associated with environmental protection, and green investment attraction.
Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, hoped that VCCI and USAID Vietnam would continue to advise and support the province in policy planning for socio-economic development towards green transformation, soon completing the goal of building Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city.
