On October 14, the
18th Vietnam film festival under the theme “Vietnam’s cinematography: Nationalism, Humanity, Creativity, Integration” began at the Tuan Chau tourist site in Ha Long city, the northern province of Quang Ninh.
The event received 139 submissions, including 23 feature films, 6 short films, 10 celluloid documentaries, 62 video documentaries, 12 scientific films and 26 animation films.
One Golden Lotus award, two Silver Lotus awards and two Jury Prizes will be presented in each category.
There will also be sub-awards to honour the best directors, screenwriters, composers, leading actors and actresses, supporting actors and actresses, camera operators, and sound engineers.
Addressing at the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Tuan Anh said that the has become one of the most appreciated cinema events in the country, serving as a forum for producers, actors and actresses to increase their professionalism in producing and promoting their works./.
