Poster on the exhibition
The artworks represent a new genre of ottchil in terms of materials and techniques, and the production process and craftsmanship of traditional Korean mother-of-pearl inlaid lacquer wares.
The exhibition titled “Contemporary Korean Ottchil Art from traditional to contemporary" will be held at the VICAS Center for Assistance and Development of Contemporary Arts (VICAS Arts Studio) at No.32 Hao Nam street, Dong Da district, to promote art exchanges between the Republic of Korea and Vietnam.
It helps Vietnamese have a deeper understanding of ottchil arts and the approaches and methods that generations of artists in Korea have been preserving in their traditional lacquer wares and contemporary ottchil artworks.
In the framework of the exhibition, a workshop on the arts will be organized on May 24th, featuring Vietnamese and Korean lacquer artists, and art critics as well./.
