Paintings by talented Japanese artist Saeko Ando will be displayed at an exhibition entitled “Moon” to take place at the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam on September 8.

The paintings depict the moon in various phases, seasons, weathers, times of day, and shades of colour.

The event is held as part of activities aimed at celebrating the 50th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.

Most notably, they are displayed alongside waka poems which have been specifically chosen for them, said the organiser.

According to VOV, Saeko Ando was born in Japan back in 1968. He later settled in the country, dedicating her passion to traditional Vietnamese lacquer art and painting. Her paintings beautifully blend into Japanese sensibility with traditional Vietnamese lacquer techniques, earning widespread acclaim for their artistic prowess./.
