Presenting Literary Awards 2023 to authors of best works

On February 27, the Vietnamese Writers Association (VWA) held an event on February 27 to present the 2023 literary awards and review the movement on writing for children.

Since the awards for 2023 were announced, the organisers have received 179 submitted works, from which the six best works were selected for awards, reported NDO.

The Vietnamese Writers Association’s literary awards cover four categories, namely prose, poetry, literary criticism and children’s literature.

The award-winning prose works are two novels by Nguyen Mot and Nguyet Viet Ha and a collection of short stories by Nguyen Tham Thien Ke, while the poetry award went to a poetry collection by Nguyen Phuc Loc Thanh.

A work by Phung Ngoc Kien and Doan Anh Duong won the Literary Criticism Award, while Le Quang Trang’s work received the Children’s Literature Award.

There are also awards to honour young writers and impressive female writers.

In the meantime, the call for writing for children witnessed the participation of writers from all over the country, as well as Vietnamese living abroad.

The oldest author is 95-year-old Huynh Sanh Chau, while the youngest are 10-year-old Kul Nguyen and 11-year-old Vu Khanh Huyen./.
