The number of AstraZeneca vaccines included 100,000 doses donated by the Government of Slovakia, 60,000 doses donated by the Government of Croatia and 400,000 doses ceded by the Hungarian Government to Vietnam under a non-profit mechanism.

The governments of Hungary, Slovakia and Croatia supporting COVID-19 vaccines for Vietnam shows friendship and mutual sharing during difficult times, determining to push back the pandemic globally.

The 12.5 tons of medical supplies worth USD380,000, including 2 million syringes, more than 19,000 antigen rapid test kits, 300,000 KN95 masks and 25,000 medical masks, are the hearts of overseas Vietnamese in Hungary joining hands to help the domestic fight against COVID-19.

Flight VN5538 is the result of inter-sectoral cooperation to implement the Government's direction on aid mobilization, negotiation, import, and receipt of vaccines and medical products for the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the past weeks, the Vietnamese Embassy in Hungary, the Trade Office in Hungary, and the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia have closely coordinated with domestic agencies, as well as diplomatic, health, and warehouse businesses in Hungary, Croatia and Slovakia to mobilize, negotiate, sign contracts; appraise quality, complete receipt and import documents and transport and customs procedures.

Vaccines and medical supplies have high requirements for preservation and quality, so the whole process of receiving and transporting has been carried out urgently, strictly, and in accordance with the correct process so that when the goods arrive in Vietnam, the quality is guaranteed for being safe to use./.
