(CPV) - Hanoi strives to welcome 24 million tourists in 2023, including 4 million international tourists. However, the number of international tourist arrivals reached 3.6 million from January to October 2023.

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in the 10 months, total tourist arrivals to Hanoi numbered 20.7 million, a year-on-year increase of 34.3%; in which international arrivals reached 3.6 million, a 3.5-fold increase, and domestic visitors were estimated at 17.1 million, a 19.1% rise.
Total revenue from tourists was estimated at 76.3 trillion VND, up 66.7% year on year.
In October 2023 alone, Hanoi received 1.81 million visitors, an increase of 17.2% year on year but a decrease of 11% against September 2023. Of which, international tourists reached 411,300, up 67.7% year on year. Domestic tourists were estimated at 1.4 million, up 7.7% year on year.
Total revenue from tourists was estimated at about 7.17 trillion VND, up 69.6% year on year and down 7% against September 2023.
Regarding accommodation activities, the average room occupancy rate of the hotel sector in October 2023 reached 50.1%, down 7.5% against September 2023. In the 10 months of 2023, the occupancy rate was 59.9%, up 13.9% year on year./.
