HCM City gives 930,000 COVID-19 vaccine shots to people from 15 priority groups

On July 22, Ho Chi Minh (HCM) City started the fifth phase of its large-scale COVID-19 vaccination campaign. Accordingly 930,000 local people from 15 priority groups will be given COVID-19 vaccine shots.

This phase will be carried out at 20 hospitals, alongside 615 commune- and ward-based vaccination sites. It is scheduled to complete in two weeks.

Doctor Nguyen Huu Hung, deputy director of HCM City Department of Health, said that the priority subjects in this phase of vaccination still follow the Government Resolution 21.

People aged 65 and above and those with underlying health conditions in Ho Chi Minh City are on the priority list for vaccination against COVID-19 in the fifth phase of its inoculation drive, which is set to begin on July 22.

Besides the frontline forces who were prioritised in the previous phases of vaccination, more groups of people will be protected including people over 65 years old, people with underlying diseases, policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious.

The city has so far received more than 930,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines including AstraZeneca, Moderna, Pfizer and Sinopharm./.
