Chinese Ambassador to Vietnam, He Wei, on behalf of the Chinese people, extended heartfelt condolences to those affected by Tropical Storm No. 3 in Vietnam and expressed sympathy to the families of those who lost their lives in the recent floods.

"The Chinese Party, Government and people are deeply concerned and are closely monitoring the situation of flooding caused by Tropical Storm No. 3 (Yagi) in Vietnam. The Chinese Red Cross has decided to donate USD100,000 to provide emergency relief to people in disaster-hit areas of Vietnam," said Ambassador He Wei.

Previously, in order to support the regions severely affected by Storm No. 3 in northern Vietnam, the Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, along with Chinese enterprises in Vietnam, actively raised funds and material donations through various support channels. Notably, at the celebration of the 75th National Day of China held on September 16 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Chinese Business Association in Vietnam donated VND3.8 billion to assist northern residents affected by the storm.

At the donation ceremony, President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society, Ms. Bui Thi Hoa, stated that the Red Cross organizations of both countries will continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation, particularly in areas such as healthcare, disaster prevention and response, social work, livelihood support, and youth and volunteer exchanges between the two nations.

To date, the Vietnam Red Cross Society has implemented emergency relief activities with a total value of nearly VND10 billion, supporting more than 10,300 households, equivalent to over 41,500 people across 15 provinces and cities affected by storms and floods. The assistance includes VND3.25 billion in cash, 3,200 family relief kits, 3,300 emergency relief packages and 100 house repair kits.

Additionally, since launching the campaign "Support the Northern people in overcoming the aftermath of Storm No. 3" on September 7, the Vietnam Red Cross has received a total of VND16 billion in donations from the community to support those affected by the disaster./.
