Ho Chi Minh City welcomes Slovenian businesses

On June 19, he received Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs of Slovenia, on the occasion of her working visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

At the meeting, Mr. Dung said that since the establishment of diplomatic ties in 1994, bilateral relations between the two countries have continuously developed strongly, demonstrated by the two sides regularly exchanging delegations, including high-level delegations, the maintenance of the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee on Economic Cooperation between Vietnam and Slovenia.

Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Dung emphasized that Ho Chi Minh City always attaches importance to strengthening and developing relations with Slovenia, adding that trade and investment relations between the two sides are not commensurate with their potential. However, thanks to the advantages of the Europe – Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA), the two sides will have more advantages in promoting trade and investment exchanges.

The Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee expressed his hope that Slovenia will encourage Slovenian businesses to come to Ho Chi Minh City to explore investment cooperation opportunities, especially in areas where Slovenia has strengths such as shipping, renewable energy and pharmaceuticals. He also said he believed that the visit of the guest would contribute to strengthening the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Slovenia.

“Ho Chi Minh City is committed to creating favorable conditions for foreign businesses, including Slovenian businesses, to invest and participate in business activities in the city,” he said, noting that the city would make efforts to improve the investment environment to welcome Slovenian businesses.

Secretary General Renata Cvelbar Bek expressed her pleasure about the good relations between Slovenia and Vietnam; and showed her impression of the dynamic and strong development speed of Ho Chi Minh City. Regarding the purpose of the delegation's working trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Ms. Renata Cvelbar Bek said that the visit confirmed that Ho Chi Minh City is a priority in strengthening the development of Slovenia's relations.

She emphasized that Slovenian businesses are very interested in the investment cooperation environment in Ho Chi Minh City with great potential and advantages for development. She also revealed her hope that in the coming time, businesses from both sides would reap many good results, especially in the fields of education and high-quality services such as finance, banking, logistics, telecommunications, transportation, tourism, hi-tech agriculture and clean energy./.
