Plan to implement Hanoi’s initiatives and commitments when joining the UNESCO Creative Cities Network

Hanoi City People's Committee has just issued Plan 161/KH-UBND on implementing initiatives to join UNESCO's Creative Cities Network in 2023.

Accordingly, the plan has clearly defined many key tasks such as activities of Hanoi City participating in as a member of UNESCO's Creative Cities Network; developing the Membership Monitoring Report at the request of UNESCO for the term in 2023.

Notably, regarding the implementation of initiatives and programs of Hanoi city participating in UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the plan clearly identifies 6 initiatives, of which 3 are implemented at the local level  (including Building Hanoi Creative Design Center; building and supporting creative hubs in Hanoi; and Hanoi Creative Talent TV show) and 3 international-level initiatives (including: Hanoi Creative Design Festival; Organizing UNESCO Creative Cities Network Forum in Southeast Asia in 2023; and Network of Young Creative Designers).

In order to do in these tasks well, the City People's Committee requires relevant departments and branches and the People's Committees of districts and towns to follow closely the contents of the Hanoi city's candidacy file to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, UNESCO's commitments and regulations, cooperation contents, external information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vietnam National Committee for UNESCO, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the reality at Hanoi city together with other major cities and provinces in the country, and clearly define the contents, tasks and suitable key solutions for implementation.

At the same time, it is necessary to ensure close, regular and consistent coordination among departments, branches, localities and relevant agencies in the process of effectively implementing the proposed contents./.
