Overseas Vietnamese in Macau attend Asian Art Colour 2016

An amateur art troupe of the overseas Vietnamese community in Macau, China, on November 20th attended the national cultural exchange “Asian Art Colour - 2016” organized at Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China.

The event drew many art troupes from 16 countries and territories in Asia, such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, India and Japan, and it attracted a large number of local people and diplomats of countries in Hong Kong, China.

This is an annual activity organized by Hong Kong’s Department of Entertainment - Culture. The main criterion of the event is to integrate multi- colourful culture, learn and borrow art culture from each other to enrich forms of culture and performing arts of each country and throughout Asia.

Representative from Hong Kong’s Department of Entertainment - Culture said the main purpose of the event is to create a platform for Asian countries to express the unique art and cultural identity of each country, thereby increasing art and cultural exchange to enrich diverse and multi-colour art and culture of Asia in the globalization era.

In addition, it also contributes to strengthening solidarity, friendship and mutual understanding among people from countries of differing social regime, history, culture and ethnicity, towards the common goal of building a world of peace, civilization and prosperity.

Representing Vietnam, an amateur art troupe of the overseas Vietnamese community in Macau, China, performed many special items such as umbrella dance, bamboo dancing and conical hat dance, together with folk songs of the people of Vietnam. The items were cheered enthusiastically and praised by international friends./.
