140 overseas Vietnamese complete medical quarantine in Soc Trang

The Mekong River Delta province of Soc Trang on August 17th announced that 140 people had completed medical quarantine at the provincial military school. They are Vietnamese citizens who returned from Canada and the Republic of Korea on August 3.
The citizens were awarded certificates of quarantine completion by the Soc Trang Provincial Authority and tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 virus. After returning to their localities, the citizens will continue to isolate at their residential areas according to the regulations.

According to Colonel Tran Van Lau, Commander of the Soc Trang Provincial Military Command, to welcome citizens on Soc Trang province to quarantine, the command has prepared a quarantine zone with more than 500 beds, fully equipped with material facilities and forces to ensure safety for quarantined citizens. At the Soc Trang Provincial Military School, 140 quarantined citizens were given regular health checks, and served three meals per day with the standard ration of 80,000 VND/person/day.

They were also provided free drinking water, face towels, face masks, hand sanitizer, antiseptic liquid and other essential items to serve their daily needs. The meal was cooked by the soldiers, so the food was fresh and delicious, ensuring quality, quantity and safety and hygiene of food.

Particularly, among them, there are 29 pregnant women, who had been examined by the Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control under the Provincial Military Command, in coordination with the Provincial Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital. Clinical examination results show that all pregnant women are healthy and stable; their fetuses developing normally.

Mr. Nguyen Nhu Khai, 62 years old, living in Ho Chi Minh City, returning from Canada, said that during the 14 days of quarantine, he and other citizens were well taken care of by soldiers, from health check-ups, daily body temperature checking and encouraged. He and other citizens well followed the rules and regulations of the school.

Meanwhile, Ms. Hoang Ngoc Xuan Thuong from Hai Phong, returning from the Republic of Korea, a pregnant woman, was also very touched and happy to be brought home by the State, and well cared for during the days of quarantine. She said that the quarantine days in Soc Trang will be a memorable time in her life./.
