The event took place at the NegociAr22 seminar and SME connection program organized by Argentina’s Chamber of Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses.
At Vietnam’s stall with strong products such as coffee, tea, handicraft, ceramics and garment and textiles, Argentinian businesses which are interested in Vietnamese products received useful information and answers about methods of importing Vietnamese products, as well as investment and cooperation opportunities to produce Argentina’s strong products in Vietnam such as wine, milk and cheese.
In addition, businesses are also provided with more specific information about tourist destinations, routes and the new tourism opening policy of Vietnam.
Speaking in an interview after the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Argentina Duong Quoc Thanh expressed his pleasure to attend the program after a 2-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and highly appreciated the efforts of Argentina’s Chamber of Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses to bring Argentine businesses to international markets, including Vietnam.
The Ambassador emphasized that trade exchange between Vietnam and Argentina has continued to grow in recent years, surpassing the threshold of 4 billion USD for the first time in 2021, however, the proportion of small- and medium-sized enterprises is still low while their strength and potential are great.
In both countries, these businesses are very dynamic, sensitive to the market. They are the engine of the economy, creating more than 60% of jobs and more than 40% of gross national product, thus such events like NegociAr are very necessary and need to be further promoted.
The Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy in Argentina will continue to accompany the Argentine Chamber of Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses to support these businesses in both countries, contributing to promoting Vietnam- Argentina economic development cooperation.
NegociAr is an annual program organized by the Argentine Chamber of Small- and Medium-Sized Businesses since 2016 with the aim of providing information to Argentine SMEs about international business, investment and tourism opportunities, as well as connecting businesses with foreign representatives in Argentina. This year's seminar has attracted the participation of a large number of small- and medium- sized enterprises and 15 embassies and commercial offices of all continents in Argentina./.
