Overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine’s Kharkov support COVID-19 fight at home

A ceremony was held by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the morning of June 28 to receive donations from the Vietnamese community in Ukraine’s Kharkov province to support the COVID-19 fight at home.

At the event, on behalf of the Vietnamese community in Kharkov province, Mr. Tran Duc Tua, President of the Overseas Vietnamese Association of Kharkov province, and Mr. Doan Van Thinh, Chairman of the Vietnamese Business Association in Kharkov province, presented the amount of 100 million VND to support the COVID-19 fight in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Chairman of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Ngo Huong Nam affirmed that the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs deeply appreciates the good feelings and companionship of overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine with people at home in COVID-19 prevention and control.

On this occasion, Mr. Nam also thanked the overseas Vietnamese community in Kharkov province for their valuable contributions to movements at home in general and for supporting the commission’s work in particular over the past time.

At the same time, he also sincerely shared about the difficulties that overseas Vietnamese are suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic and hoped that overseas Vietnamese in Ukraine would soon stabilize their lives.

Sharing with The World and Vietnam Report, Mr. Tran Duc Tua said that responding the call of the leaders of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front, Vietnamese in Kharkov are ready to support the COVID-19 fight in the homeland in spite of their lives remaining difficult due to the impact of the pandemic.

Although the amount is not large, this is the heart of overseas Vietnamese in Kharkov who always look back to their homeland and believe in the COVID-19 prevention and control work at home./.
