Vietnamese Ambassador to Poland attends 1st Podlaskie Economic Forum

The event gathered nearly 1,000 attendees, including regional governments and local businesses, ambassadors, trade agencies and businesses from Asia-Pacific countries in Poland.

Within the framework of the forum, Ambassador Nguyen Hung attended the opening discussion session with the theme "Promoting Polish economic cooperation with Asian countries".

At the forum, the Vietnamese Embassy also organized a booth to introduce Vietnamese products.

According to the Podlaskie regional government, Asia is one of the region's priorities with which to strengthen international cooperation because global trade and trade tend to shift to the Far East.

The Podlaskie region is the "gateway to Europe" for Asian countries, with an important geo-economic position at the intersection of North-South and East-West trade routes.

In addition to the traditional fields of agriculture and processed foods, Asian countries and the Podlaskie region can promote cooperation in information technology, artificial intelligence in medicine, and logistics and transportation.

During the discussion sessions at the forum, Ambassador Nguyen Hung and Trade Counselor Nguyen Thanh Hai highlighted the achievements of economic cooperation between Vietnam and Poland in recent time, as well as the bilateral cooperation orientation between the two countries and between Vietnam and the Podlaskie region in the future, in the context of global supply chains being broken and reshaped, the EVFTA Agreement having taken effect from August 2020 and the EVIPA Agreement soon to be approved.

At the same time, the Vietnamese Ambassador and Trade Counselor  appreciated the economic bridge role of the Vietnamese community in Poland; and expressed willingness to support connection and information for businesses in Podlaskie region as well as Polish businesses wishing to cooperate with Vietnam./.
