The northern province of Quang Ninh has worked with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to cooperate and sign a Memorandum of Understanding on popularizing Japanese technology associated with improving the environment.
Accordingly, Quang Ninh and Japanese company Seiwa Denko will cooperate to survey the feasibility of applying the bio-toilet and the new purification system New Johka into improving the environment in the province.
The Japanese side will help Quang Ninh to transfer the bio-toilet technology and install the New-Johka system on ships, at seaports and areas which are not connected with the province’s waste water treatment system.
The project aims to improve the water environment at the world heritage Ha Long bay by using Japanese technology- a distributed wastewater treatment system without the need for the collecting and mixing stage from the water drainage system.
Quang Ninh pledged to steer branches, relevant agencies and residential community to realize programs of the project with the aim of making a significant contribution to protecting environment of Ha Long bay in particular and surrounding areas in the province in general./.
