Accordingly, the delegation donated six water filters branded Paul and 15 scholarships for students there.

Of these, 13 water filters are from donations of organizations in the state of Hessen, the remaining are from individual donors in the state, through the Germany’s World University Service (WUS Germany).

The Paul nanotechnology water filtration system is the main product researched and invented by Prof. Dr. Franz-Bern Frechen and his colleagues for the past 15 years. The technology has been upgraded over generations and the water filters installed there are the most modern technology, first introduced in Vietnam.

Prof. Dr. Franz - Bern Frechen said that he felt very touched because a large number of people attended the ceremonies organized to hand over the water filters of Hessen state in Quang Ninh province, from leaders of local administrations to teachers, parents and students.

"The program is very significant not only economically and socially, but It also contributes to educating students on economically using clean water source in daily life," said Mr. Manh Hong Hai, Rector of Uong Bi High School, one of the schools presented the water filters in Quang Ninh province.

On this occasion, the delegation also presented 15 scholarships of the Hessian State Ministry for Science and Art, through WUS Germany to the students. This is a scholarship awarded by Germany to Vietnam for the past 23 years, averaging 150 scholarships per year. In particular, this year, Germany expects to give 250 scholarships to students across the country.

"These scholarships represent the precious help and sentiment of the Hessen state in particular and the Federal Republic of Germany for Vietnam. Each scholarship is not financially large, but it is a source of encouragement for Vietnamese students to strive in their studies," Mr. Bui Cong Tho, Chief Representative of the Hessen State Office in Vietnam, speaking at the scholarship award ceremony.

After the program in Quang Ninh province, the delegation continues their program in the northern mountainous provinces of Yen Bai and Lao Cai./.
