Over 260 outstanding tourism businesses and individuals honored

This annual event of the Vietnam Tourism Association aims to encourage tourism businesses to continue striving to improve the quality of services and professionalism, and gradually strengthen the brand; contributing to developing tourism as a spear-head economic sector.

In his speech at the event, Nguyen Huu Tho, Chairman of the Vietnam Tourism Association, said the position of Vietnam’s tourism is being affirmed in the region and the world. Last year, the sector greeted 15.6 million foreign tourists and provided services to more than 80 million domestic tourists, earning a revenue of over VND620 trillion and accounting for 7.8% of national GDP.

This year, Vietnam was ranked third among 10 countries with the fastest tourism growth by the World Tourism Organization, up 3 grades from 2017. This is the result of the great effort of the sector in general and outstanding travel companies in particular.

The honoring of the outstanding businesses also creates favorable conditions for tourists to choose and use prestigious and high-quality tourism companies and tourism products of each locality, recognized by competent authorities./.
