Dien Bien Airport expected to reopen in early December

The Vietnam Aviation Administration has just issued a document allowing Dien Bien Airport to resume its operation from December 2.

Aiming to operate flights to and from Dien Bien Airport in accordance with the time of resumption, the Vietnam Aviation Administration requires airlines to research and develop plans to operate return flights to Dien Bien Airport and sell tickets to serve the travel needs of passengers and people.

The Dien Bien Airport project has been approved by the Prime Minister for investment policy in Decision 470/QD-TTg dated March 27, 2021 focusing on building and expanding the scale of 2,400-meter runways, meeting technical standards for modern aircraft such as Airbus A320, A321.

At the same time, the capacity of the existing passenger terminal is expanded from 300,000 passengers a year to 500,000 passengers a year. It has new auxiliary works and civil aviation areas renovated and built to ensure synchronous operation of A320, A321 and equivalent aircraft.

The project started in January 2022, with a total investment of 1,467.7 billion VND from ACV's capital./.
