The new night tour made its debut as part of activities in the ongoing Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Week.
The tour provides visitors with service to experience culture - art, sightseeing – entertainment activities, night shopping - culinary culture and takeaway, and healthcare services, at night through destinations in District 1 such as Saigon Opera House, Ben Thanh Market, and HCM City Museum of Fine Arts.
This is also one of the new tourism products aiming to exploit the potential for developing the night economy and nightlife tourism in District 1 and HCM City in general, towards attracting more domestic and international holiday-makers to the southern metropolis.
Ms. Mai Thi Hong Hoa, Vice Chairwoman of the District 1 People’s Committee, said that in recent times, the district has proactively reviewed the tourism resource system associated with famous cultural and historical values to have a plan to connect and build tours and routes.
The night tour helps tourists have more choices to enjoy unique local culture and experience night activities.
The product also helps increase the use of services for all types of commercial services in District 1 in particular and contribute to promoting Ho Chi Minh City's economic development in general.
Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Tourism, said that under the city’s development plan, each district will have an additional tourism product at night to diversify products in the locality.
According to Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, District 1 is considered “the heart of HCM City”, a key locality for tourism development with strengths in accommodation and dining facilities.
The launch of “District 1 - Colors of the Night” product will contribute to diversifying the city’s tourism products, increasing the number of featured tourism programs to 60./.
