The south-central province of Binh Thuan held the closing ceremony of the National Tourism Year 2023 in Phan Thiet city on December 27.
The successful organization of the 2023 National Tourism Year contributed to the overall success of Vietnamese tourism this year.
This year, the country has served more than 12.5 million foreign visitors and 108 million domestic ones, and earned an estimated 670 trillion VND (27.5 billion USD). Notably, Vietnam won 54 prizes at the 2023 World Travel Awards - Asia and Oceania region, affirming the brand, role and position of Vietnam on the world tourism map.
In 2023, Binh Thuan has welcomed nearly 8.5 million visitors and earned over 23 trillion VND, nearly double that in 2022, and helping it enter the list of nine localities with the highest tourism revenue in the country.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Mr. Doan Anh Dung, Chairman of the Binh Thuan People’s Committee, said that promoting the success of the National Tourism Year 2023, Binh Thuan targeted green and sustainable development, and environmental friendliness, in harmony with nature and continued to preserve, embellish and promote historical relics, traditional craft villages and unique cultural festivals.
At the same time, the province focused on diversifying, improving the quality and upgrading products and services, creating a premise for Binh Thuan tourism to take off, to become a beautiful, safe and attractive destination for tourists.
The province transferred the hosting of the National Tourism Year 2024 to Dien Bien province, with the theme associated with the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory./.
