Railway sector adds 3,000 train seats for Tet holiday

The Sai Gon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company (Saratrans) has added 3,000 seats for trains from Sai Gon, Di An and Bien Hoa stations to stations from Quang Ngai to Hanoi and vice versa, to meet the increasing travel demand during the Lunar New Year (Tet) holidays, said Thai Van Quyen, General Director of Saratrans.

The train seats will be added from January 31 to February 19, 2024 (the 21st day of the last lunar month to the 10th day of the first lunar month).
Previously, the railway sector planned to provide over 200,000 seats on 390 trains for the Tet holidays.
According to Saratrans, after more than two months on sale from October 20, over 130,000 tickets have been sold.
The railway sector also applies many preferential policies to support train passengers such as discounts for social policy beneficiaries, trade unions, and passengers with customer cards; 5% discount on return tickets for passengers who buy round-trip tickets; and especially students receive a 10%-20% discount on ticket prices depending on the day of travel./.
