The number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan in 2023 exceeded that of 2019, before the COVID-19 epidemic, said the Japan Tourism Promotion Agency in Vietnam (JNTO) on January 30.

Accordingly, Vietnamese visitor arrivals to Japan this year reached a new record of 573,900, an increase of 15.9% over the 495,051 visitors achieved in 2019. Currently, Vietnam is also in the top 10 largest tourist markets of Japan.

The number of Vietnamese visitors to Japan in 2023 hit a record high.

Aiming to continue to attract Vietnamese tourists to Japan in the coming time, the JNTO office in Vietnam will continue to carry out promotional activities based on the Japanese Government’s three new tourism strategies, including "sustainable tourism development", "increase in tourism consumption" and "regional attraction". Tourism promotion and cooperation strategies will contribute to push up tourist exchange between the two countries.

Currently, Japan is carrying out a campaign to promote attractive tourism products in 2024 such as cherry blossoms season in late March/early April, especially in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka cities. However, visitors can watch the flowers early in some areas in the south of Tokyo as early as January. Japan will reopen a sumo-themed amusement facility for foreign visitors to watch shows at Namba Park in Osaka in summer

In addition, on February 15, Japan will hold the largest event on MICE tourism (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions tourism) in Tokyo. The event is expected to attract more than 80 conference promotion agencies, MICE organisations, hotels in Japan and international buyers./.
