APEC members invest over USD21 billion in Dong Nai province

As of mid-October, 14 APEC member economies have invested in the southern province of Dong Nai a total capital of over USD21.6 billion, the provincial Department of Investment and Planning has reported.
The production in a RoK-invested company in Nhon Trach 3 industrial zone (Photo: baodongnai.com.vn) According to the department, 6 countries and territories which have poured a large amount of investment capital in the province include the Republic of Korea, China’s Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China. Of which the Republic of Korea leads APEC member economies in terms of investment capital in Dong Nai province with over USD5.5 billion, followed by China’s Taiwan (over USD5.2 billion), Japan (nearly USD4 billion), and Singapore (nearly USD2.3 billion).
The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week this year entitled “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future” will be held in Da Nang city from November 6th-11th, aiming to obtain liberation and openness of trade, invest in and encourage economic and technological cooperation, and promote convenient business environment.
Established in 1989 with 12 member economies, APEC now has 21 members, representing 2.8 billion people and 57% of global GDP. Vietnam joined APEC in November 1998./.
