Airbus supports aviation training in Vietnam

Airbus on June 27th signed two agreements with the University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (USTH) to assist the establishment of new international aviation degree programs at its Department of Space and Aeronautics.

From 2018 to 2023, Airbus will contribute a total of USD2.5 million to these programs.

The programs are a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Maintenance and Engineering Operations and a Master of Science in International Air Transport Operations. The first Vietnamese students will start both courses in September 2018.

Earlier, in 2016, the group signed an agreement to provide flight and maintenance training services to Vietjet Air in Ho Chi Minh city. This deal will also furnish an A320 Full-Flight Simulator (FFS) for the carrier’s flight training center to conduct flight crew training for its A320 family fleet.

Airbus has also been developing its industrial partnerships in Vietnam. In Ho Chi Minh city, Artus Vietnam is the provider for electronic and electromechanical equipment for Airbus over the past 20 years. Currently, the company is supplying components to finalize Airbus aircrafts (A320, A330, A350 XWB and A380).

Aircraft development programs of the pioneer in the aerospace industry have created jobs for 550 skilled workers in Vietnam, and the figure will increase to 1,200 in 2020. It is actively seeking opportunities to offer more jobs in the country./.
