The reduction was brought about by COVID-19 when travel and consumption were restricted.

Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand and Ecuador are the main suppliers of the eight types of fruits to China, accounting for 93.9% of total imports, of which the products from Vietnam account for 40.4%.

Dragon fruit is the main fruit China imported from Vietnam, accounting for 47.1% of total import, reaching 109,000 tons, worth USD93.8 million, a year-on-year increase of 66.6% in value.
