CLMV countries propose removing unnecessary trade barriers

On July 22nd, the 19th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam Senior Economic Officials Meeting (CLMV SEOM) was organized in Hanoi under the online forum.

The event was attended by SEOM leaders of CLMV countries, representatives of ASEAN Secretariat, relevant ministries and agencies of CLMV countries involved in component of economic cooperation mechanism.

The Vietnamese delegation included representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and some related ministries such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Ministry of Education and Training.

At the conference, the countries agreed to continue facilitating trade, investment activities and services; especially cross-border trade among CLMV countries; restricting and removing unnecessary barriers to assist businesses to ensure the operation of supply chains.

SEOM CLMV leaders also exchanged and agreed on a number of contents to prepare for the 12th CLMV Economic Ministers, scheduled to be organized online in August 2020./.
