Speaking at the conference, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province Nguyen Huong Giang emphasized that Bac Ninh is always interested in strengthening economic cooperation and investment promotion with Korean partners. Among 39 countries and territories investing in Bac Ninh, the Republic of Korea is the country with the largest scale of investment capital with 960 projects worth a total investment of about USD14.34 billion, accounting for 60% of total foreign investment in the province. Many effective enterprises, investors, production and business activities have made important contributions to economic restructuring, job creation, and an increase of labor productivity, technology and modern management experience.
The conference was an opportunity for Korean businesses and investors to better understand the opportunities, potentials and advantages of Bac Ninh; viewpoints, policies and determination of the province, as well as its responsibilities when investing and doing business in Bac Ninh province.
The Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed her wish that Korean businesses actively participate in contributing to developing the province’s new and breakthrough guidelines, mechanisms, policies and solutions. “This will be an important basis for the province to have more effective and practical solutions, step by step removing difficulties and obstacles, and creating more favorable conditions for Korean businesses and investors,” she said.
Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Oh Young Ju affirmed that this is a program of special significance, an opportunity to promote the economic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the context of difficult economic situation in the world. She said she hoped that the Bac Ninh provincial government and Korean businesses would exchange, share and find solutions to overcome difficulties and support business development, creating a driving force to attract investment in new fields, especially smart city development.
At the conference, Korean businesses exchanged, discussed and learned about the province's investment attraction policy; evaluated the investment environment; and proposed recommendations and solutions for Bac Ninh to attract investment and create favorable conditions for enterprises to develop.
Along with that, functional departments and sectors provided more information on the province's potential, strengths, and orientations to attract investment in the coming time, the situation of production and business activities of industrial park enterprises in general, Korean enterprises in particular; and responded directly to business requests./.
