Presenting a discussion titled “Promoting the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in implementing the Party's Resolutions, Directives, and Conclusions with social policy credit”, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Huu Dung said that social policy credit is one of the major policies of the Party and State, aiming to eliminate hunger, reduce poverty, and provide capital support to low-income households to overcome difficulties, contributing to ensuring social security and building new rural areas. This is truly a creative solution and suitable to the country’s reality.

Social policy credit work has mobilized hundreds of trillions of VND, meeting the loan needs of a large number of poor people and policy beneficiaries in 100% of communes, wards and towns across the country. The work contributed to job creation and sustainable poverty reduction, supporting social policy beneficiaries, people in difficult circumstances, people and businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The VBSP’s organizational model and operating method have been completed, in accordance with new mission requirements; an effective social policy credit trust lending method has been built, promoting the role and active participation of the entire political system in social policy credit work, helping and encouraging social policy beneficiaries to escape poverty and gradually get rich legitimately,” Nguyen Huu Dung affirmed.

Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have helped build and repair 149,136 Great Solidarity houses for the poor and people in difficult circumstances; supported over 5 million poor and disadvantaged people with medical examination and treatment; helped over 961,000 students with their studies; supported over 905,000 poor people in production development and supported the construction of thousands of civil works.

“The above practical activities have contributed to improving management efficiency and awareness of party committees, local authorities and people about the position and role of social policy credit in the process of demonstrating the Party’s guidelines and policies, and the State’s legal policies on economic growth coupled with progress and social justice, ensuring social security, sustainable poverty reduction, and building new rural areas,” said Vice Chairman Nguyen Huu Dung./.
