Hundreds of Chinese traders plan to buy Vietnamese lychees

According to the Bac Giang Center for Industry Promotion and Trade Promotion under the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, 201 Chinese traders have registered to enter Vietnam and come to Bac Giang to sign contracts for purchasing lychees of this locality.

This list of Chinese traders has been sent to the Immigration Department (Ministry of Public Security) by the Bac Giang Provincial Public Security for entry permit procedures. It is expected that at the end of May, Chinese traders will start entering Bac Giang to participate in consuming early ripe lychees.

According to Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, in 2023, the province has 29,700 hectares of lychees; from which, the harvest is estimated to reach over 180,000 tons, the harvest time is expected from May 20 to July 30.

Up to now, the Bac Giang Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has signed 34 memorandums of cooperation with agricultural wholesale markets, e-commerce trading floors, supermarket chains and businesses to consume about 110,000 tons of lychee.

According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Bac Giang province, the province has 16,034 hectares and 215 establishments eligible to pack fresh lychees for export to the Chinese market.

In addition, Bac Giang is proposing to grant 13 additional planting area codes, covering an area of 575 hectares, bringing the total area of lychee cultivation for China's export to 16,609 hectares, with an estimated output of 110,000 tons.

In order to export lychee to China smoothly, the Bac Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development has coordinated with localities to organize training for growers, cooperatives and exporters to strictly comply with the regulations, strictly comply with regulations on management of registration of foreign food production enterprises exporting to China, and regulations on management of food safety for export and import into China of the General Administration of Customs of China, to reduce export risks.

In addition, the Bac Giang Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is supporting and guiding the production households in the lychee growing area to well prepare the facilities, equipment and harvesting tools for field inspection of planting areas and packing facilities of the General Administration of Customs of China./.
