Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) last week successfully organized a direct trade event between a business delegation from Ulsan city and Vietnamese importers in Hanoi.

The business delegation from Ulsan city participating in this trade exchange event included 7 prestigious Korean manufacturers and suppliers, introducing the strong products of Ulsan city such as cosmetics, supplies and agricultural and industrial chemicals. The products and areas of activity of the Ulsan city business delegation received special attention from many Vietnamese importers who wanted to learn and expand new import opportunities from the RoK, especially during the post-COVID-19 recovery.

Representative of businesses in Ulsan city, Mr. Park Jeong Ok, Director of Evergreen Plus, said that this was the third time enterprises came to Vietnam to seek cooperation opportunities. Enterprises have learned that Vietnam is one of the countries with the highest growth rate in Southeast Asia, and one of Vietnam's strengths is agricultural production and export of agricultural products.

“We believe that, in order to meet the high requirements of the quality of agricultural products of the selective markets that Vietnam is aiming for, Evergreen Plus' organic fertilizer products will have great potential in the Vietnamese market," said Mr. Park Jeong Ok.

Through nearly 40 direct trade deals this time, more than 20 Vietnamese enterprises found suitable Korean suppliers. Ms. Dang Thanh Thuy, Director of LITANHA Vietnam Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company, highly appreciated this direct trading session between Vietnamese - Korean enterprises.

“Vietnam and the RoK have been prestigious trading partners for many years, products from the RoK are trending among Vietnamese consumers. This is the third time that enterprises participated in the trade program with Korean enterprises, and my enterprise is really impressed with the quality and design of products from the RoK, and within the framework of this event, they also met suppliers that have the potential for long-term cooperation," Ms. Thuy confirmed.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Hai Yen, KOTRA Head of Office (KOTRA), in the first 5 months of 2023 alone, KOTRA Hanoi carried out 25 direct and online trading events between Korean business delegations and potential Vietnamese importers. The strengthening of trade promotion has been and will be a key activity, contributing to bringing the two countries' trade turnover to USD100 billion in 2023./.
