In the first four months of 2021, Vietnam’s tuna export value reached nearly 226 million USD, a year-on-year rise of 15%.
According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP), Vietnam’s tuna export in April continued to rise sharply, worth more than 74 million USD, an increase of nearly 50% compared to the same period last year. This figure contributed to raising the value of the first four months of the year to nearly 226 million USD, a year-on-year rise of 15%.

VASEP said that since the beginning of the year, tuna exporters have faced many difficulties due to the rapid increase in production costs, lack of containers, and escalating sea freight to major markets. But, by the end of April 2021, exports of all four groups of tuna products increased compared to the same period last year.
Notably, after a decline in the first three months of the year, by the end of April, exports of two groups of products, frozen tuna meat/loin coded HS0304 and other processed tuna coded HS16, rose again, by 17% and 24%, respectively./.
