This chamber will create opportunities for companies in Vietnam to expand into Dubai and utilize the city as a gateway to access emerging markets, while supporting Dubai companies to expand into Vietnam.
The opening of the chamber brings the number of representative offices of Dubai International Chamber to a total of 22 offices across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Eurasia, China, India and Latin America.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Dr. Bader Abdullah Al Matrooshi, UAE Ambassador to Vietnam, said that the launch of the chamber follows recent initiatives, including negotiations on the establishment of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and the organization of an economic forum between the two countries in June. “Trade figures and other key indicators reveal promising opportunities for growth in trade and investment between the two countries, and the Dubai International Chamber will effectively contribute to this goal,” he said.
Mr. Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President, Global Markets at Dubai Chambers, said that the opening of the new office in Ho Chi Minh City is an important strategic step, ushering in a new era of enhanced cooperation between the Vietnamese and Dubai business communities.
The general assembly identified a number of potential sectors for investment in Vietnam, including agribusiness, construction, ecotourism, food processing and renewable energy.
According to Dubai Customs statistics, the bilateral trade value between Vietnam and Dubai reached an impressive USD7.7 billion in 2022, reflecting the deepening of the common trade relationship between these two markets./.
